Return to family ownership


By this time the firm of Gilbey’s, including the house of Croft, had been merged into the large international beverage group IDV which later became Diageo.

But in 2001 Croft Port returned to family hands. Adrian Bridge, managing director of the distinguished family owned Port producer then known as Taylor Fonseca, secured the purchase from Diageo of the Croft Port business.

At the same time, the Sherry arm of the company was acquired by the famous Sherry house González Byass and Croft Brandy was retained by Diageo.
